Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c.1850, with outbuilding attached to north-east gable of house, and farmyard to north-east. Hipped slate roof with cast-iron rainwater goods and red brick chimneystacks. Formerly rendered rubble stone walls to front (south-east) and side elevations with recent brick surrounds to openings, and lined-and-ruled cement render to rear elevation. Square-headed window openings with replacement timber sliding sash windows to front and side elevation, one replacement timber sliding sash window to rear elevation, and remaining rear window openings having timber casement windows. Round-headed door opening with replacement timber door and spoked fanlight. Farmyard adjacent to house comprising two ranges, eight-bay single-storey outbuilding to north-west range, having chamfered corner to east, multiple-bay two-storey and single-storey outbuildings to north-east range. Pitched slate roofs with cast-iron rainwater goods. Render removed exposing rubble stone walls and red brick surrounds to openings. Square-headed window and door openings with timber fittings. Elliptical-arch carriage arches to two-storey building, one having cut-stone voussoirs and partially blocked. Disused pigsty to front garden, with rubble stone walls. Rubble stone boundary walls, with wrought-iron pedestrian gate with rubble stone piers, one rendered. Great Northern Railway ran alongside house, former railway bridge stands between house and nearby former corn mill and Fane River.

This house retains its form and scale which contributes to its character. The symmetrical elevation with a central round-headed door opening, and paired chimneystacks over a hipped roof, continues a tradition of middle-sized classically-inspired farmhouses established in the Georgian era. This house apparently replaced an earlier one in the path of the Great Northern Railway, and may have been associated with the nearby corn mill.
