Detached four-bay single-storey house, built c.1840. Pitched thatched roof with rendered chimneystacks. Roughcast-rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with timber sash windows. Square-headed door opening with timber door. Modern shed to north of house. Site enclosed by rendered wall.

This thatched cottage is a rare survivor of Ireland's vernacular architecture and is a valuable contributor to County Roscommon's built heritage. Fortunately this thatch is maintained as the cottage is still occupied.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
