What is recorded here

Nine postholes and a grain pit marked a Bronze Age home in County Dublin, likely occupied around 1880-1650 BC. Barley lay buried in layers within the pit, suggesting the house was also a granary. People may have lived, stored food and gathered there before the land changed around them.
This structure was excavated (Licence no. 04E0680) in advance of development. Located south of a medieval ditch the structure was characterised as nine postholes, surrounding a pit of irregular shape which contained several layers of grain, predominantly barley. Pottery identified as Early to Middle Bronze Age was recovered from the fill and a radiocarbon date calibrated to 1880-1650 BC attained. (Carroll et al. 2008, 124).
