Keeltane holds a concrete and stone well thirty-five metres from its burial ground, marked only by a whitethorn tree and the quiet absence of human witness. Bowman recorded the site in 1934 after rounds stopped for a century, capturing the moment divine claim faded into ordinary water. The well may have served prayers, marked boundary, or simply collected rain while the village forgot its name. What remains is a hole in the earth, waiting to be remembered or ignored.
Bowman (1934, 716) noted holy well in same field as burial ground (14109), though 'Rounds have not been paid for practically 100 years. The usual whitethorn tree grows by the well.' May be unnamed well c. 35m N of burial ground; base of concrete, sides and cover of stone slabs; no indication of holy use.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

A holy well associated with an unspecified saint or tradition, likely linked to local healing practices, given the presence of a whitethorn tree and its proximity to a burial ground. The well was once part of a ritual landscape where "Rounds" were paid, indicating a tradition of offerings or prayers, though this practice ceased around the early 20th century.
