Holy wells have a way of hiding. Not far from Finglas East and Finglas West, St. Munchin's Well was known in the eighteenth century, yet no one now points to its exact basin. Water may still move under pavement, garden soil or forgotten lane, waiting for someone thirsty enough to listen.

Dr. Rutty (1757) mentions 'St. Munchin's Well' near Finglas (Ó Danachair 1958, 89). The exact location of this holy well has not been identified. Compiled by: Geraldine Stout Date of upload: 26 August 2011
