The well is now covered over by a large concrete slab for safety reasons and was impossible to examine as a result. No local tradition associated with well. Local landowner showed the SMR office these sites in June 1988. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
