No surface trace visible of holy well now dried up in field to the left of the Carn of the Three Crosses (OF005-028----) (Molloy 1950, 12). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). Linked to Saint Cianan, an early Irish monastic founder associated with Clonmacnoise, the holy well was traditionally visited for its supposed healing properties, particularly for eye ailments.
