Holy Well is a lost ritual site at the eastern edge of a Leitrim bog, recorded on a 1907 map and later remembered as a round hole that cured warts when visited on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The well has vanished from local knowledge and ground-level sight, leaving behind a strange gap where practical faith once entered the landscape. It may have been a small waterhole, a seasonal pool or a remembered marker, but the repeated visits suggest people believed the bog itself could return something taken from the skin.

Situated at the E edge of a bog, at its junction with pasture and c. 150m W of a N-S public road. A well is depicted at the W end of an E-W bog road only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described as a ‘Holy Well’. It was described in the 1930s as round hole in the bog with a cure for warts if visits were made on Monday, Thursday and Friday, but no name was forthcoming (IFC: Schools’ Collection, vol. 0222, 481).
