HMS/m A1

Protected wreck

What is recorded here

The National Heritage List for England records HMS/m A1 as a protected wreck. The saved point comes from the centre supplied by the official record. Listing does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
HMS/m A1 was a British Royal Navy submarine commissioned in 1903 and lost in 1904 during a trial dive in Portsmouth Harbour. It sank with all 12 crew members, who were killed, making it one of the earliest submarine disasters in British naval history.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
