Wall-mounted cast-iron post box, c.1915. Set into painted rendered wall.
This post box, although of modest appearance, forms an important component of the streetscape of Saint Alphonsus Road. The post box is an important artefact of early-surviving mass-produced cast-iron work, while the raised elements enhance the artistic design quality of the piece.
