Freestanding cast-iron water pump, c.1870, now disused. Comprising moulded base, fluted shaft, moulded neck with lion's head spout, fluted domed cap and acorn finial. Located on side of street.
This water pump was erected to provide a communal source of drinking water. As such it is both socially and technically significant. Located on the side of the street, this water pump makes an interesting contribution to the streetscape.
