What is recorded here
Pair of cast-iron gates set in cast-iron piers with cast-iron railings, c.1820, having anthemion detailing.
These gates once served Hilltown House, a large house which was to the east. It forms a group with the surviving related structures in the former demesne. The decorative motifs are of apparent artistic design. They are located opposite a gate lodge to the demesne.
This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
