What is recorded here

Detached circular-plan dovecote, built c.1760, now disused. Conical slate roof. Rubble stone and rendered walls with red brick eaves course. Interior remains intact.
This former dovecote once served Hilltown House, a large house which was situated to the north. It forms a group with the surviving related structures in the former demesne. The survival of many original features and materials enhance the building. Its simple form and volume is striking and its survival bears witness to the activities that once took place on this estate.
