R.t. Ringrose SolicitorsHouse · 45 ydExplorer Tom Chancery Place House faces the Four Courts and has been an office since forever, but it’s still got that 1780 charm. The old Mass Lane name is buried under layers of history.
O'Reilly Bros.House · 47 ydExplorer Tom O'Reilly Bros. on Inns Quay is a pub and grocer with carved lettering from the 1800s. Built around 1780, it’s facing the Liffey like a boss. The stone ridge tiles are very stylish.
O'Donovan Rossa BridgeBridge · 47 ydExplorer Tom O'Donovan Rossa Bridge crosses the Liffey with three arches that were carved in stone. James Savage designed it to line up with the Four Courts, which is very precise. Can you see the sandstone keystones? They look like faces!
Boxing Union of Ireland Limited/Mel Andre Christle/McEntee Financial Services Ltd.House · 50 ydExplorer Tom House in County Dublin is a narrow gable-fronted building dated 1826 on Chancery Place. It has a shaped Dutch gable which looks curiously old-fashioned for its time. A tea and wine merchant lived here in the 1850s, so maybe the walls still smell like Earl Grey.
Dublin Christian MissionHospital/infirmary · 57 ydExplorer Tom Dublin Christian Mission was originally a medical center for the poor, so it knows about suffering. Built in 1909, it’s now a community hub. It’s got a lot of heart, literally.
ward boundary marker70 ydExplorer Tom Ward boundary marker in County Dublin is a little granite pebble with a round head, erected around 1850. It used to mark the Merchants' Quay Ward but now it’s just standing there looking confused. The plaque is missing. Give it a nudge and see if it moves for me!
Explorer Tom Four Courts was built 1776-1802, partially destroyed by fire, rebuilt 1924-31. The dome is iconic. It was originally a Public Records Office. Take a picture for me. I bet the lawyers inside are just as intimidating as the architecture, which is to say, very tall.
Children's playground144 ydComputer-made picture. It does not show this playground.Explorer Tom Children's playground in County Dublin is dancing on its own two legs. I heard a whisper that a unicorn lives under the slide, don't believe me?
Explorer Tom Saint Audoen's Gate in County Dublin is heritage. St Audoens Church is nearby. Take a pic of the old gate for me, please!
Explorer Tom Cross-slab in Dublin is a granite slab with a Greek cross and hollows in the angles, nicknamed the Lucky Stone. It’s supposed to have supernatural powers, so take a picture for me just to be safe!
Explorer Tom Font in Dublin, found beneath St Audeon's floor in 1848, this font has shell designs and a date. Incising '1192' in Arabic numerals is a confident way to announce your arrival.
London Plane789 ydExplorer Tom London Plane number three in County Dublin is just standing there looking annoyed. The photo shows a trunk that looks like a monster. Take a picture before it bites you!
