Graveyard in Garryvicleheen stands west of Thurles, holding fragments from a lost church rather than a complete building. Its south wall still displays a cat, a lion, a human figure and an ogee-headed window, while the absence of a visible church invites wonder about what disappeared. The stones preserve more of the place than memory does.

St Bridget's church site (TN041-042003) and graveyard is situated on the W side of the town of Thurles to the W of the railway line and on the N side of Garryvicleheen road. Situated outside the walled town (TN041-042) and when visited by the OS in 1840 no trace of any church was visible (O'Flanagan 1930, vol. 3, 8). In the S wall of the graveyard there is a large stone pier into which are inserted several architectural fragments and carved stones most of which are of a recent date. One of the fragments consists of an ogee-headed window with hollowed spandrels which formerly belonged to a church building. The other figures consist of a cat, a lion and a human figure.
