What is recorded here

Carrig Castle in County Cork still stands beside a forgotten graveyard that vanished into a shrubbery. The triangular plot measured sixty metres east-west and thirty-five metres north-south, yet no grave, wall or church marker remains visible. Power wrote in 1932 that the whole place had become only garden planting, erasing the dead and the building that served them. The land keeps its shape in a map but withholds its story from everyone who walks past.

In Carrig demesne, c. 50m NW of Carrig Castle (14342). Triangular graveyard (c. 60m E-W; c. 35m N-S) shown on 1935 OS 6-inch map with church (14401) towards W end. Described by Power (1932, 99) as only a 'shrubbery within the demesne'. No visible surface trace of graveyard or church.
