Graveyard in Ballyveal

Graveyard

What is recorded here

Ballyveal graveyard is a small rectangular enclosure in County Carlow where the lowest courses of an abandoned church still stand inside the wall. The building may have fallen before the burial ground was completed, forcing the community to keep walking past its broken bones instead of forgetting them.
Small approximately rectangular graveyard (map dims. c. 25m NE-SW; c. 23m NW-SE) enclosed by wall. Lowest courses of church (CW013-049001-) visible in interior. Compiled by: Claire Breen Date of upload: 19 August 2011
