Ballygiblin in County Cork, Ireland once held a burial ground beside its church, but quarrying in the 1950s removed the church and erased every visible trace of the graveyard. What remains is an absence: smooth stone, lost markers and the quiet certainty that ordinary people were laid to rest there before the land was taken for industry.

In the 1930s Bowman (2000, 31) mentions a 'burial ground' associated with the church (vol. 4, no. 14699) at Ballygiblin but does not give any details about it. The church was removed due to quarrying in the 1950s and there are now no visible remains of the graveyard. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
