Mullacille in Artnalevery, County Louth, Ireland: local tradition places a church and graveyard there, yet no wall, grave or marker still shows on the surface. The earth may hold forgotten burial and worship while pretending to be ordinary grass. Memory, not stone, has kept the place alive.
The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Local tradition of church (LH014-029001-) and graveyard at Mullacille. No visible surface trace.
