Archaeological excavation during 2008 uncovered the N wall of the church of the Cistercian Abbey (RO006-068005-) and burials, including one burial with an in situ grave-slab, (Quinn 2011). Compiled by: Michael Moore. Date of upload: 20th June, 2011.
Medieval Christian burial slab, 12th–13th century. Found in association with a Cistercian abbey, indicating monastic funerary practice and the presence of a religious community in the area.
