There is a graveslab commemorating Ua Mailchanig (Fitzgerald 1910-12a; MacAlister 1945, vol. 2, 17, No. 553) in the N transept of the Cistercian monastery (RO006-068005-) (Bradley and Dunne 1988, 50-1). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
Medieval Christian graveslab; 12th to 13th century. It is significant as a rare surviving memorial within a Cistercian monastery, reflecting early Irish monastic burial practices and the presence of the Ua Mailchanig family.
