Situated on top of hillock with good views of the surrounding countryside. Situated on top of hillock with good views of the surrounding countryside. Poorly preserved ruins of Taghboyne church (WM025-078001-) stands in NW quadrant of triangular-shaped graveyard (approx. int. dims. 44m NW-SE x 41m NE-SW) both of which are enclosed by a large ecclesiastical enclosure (WM025-078002-). The N wall of the church no longer survives but may have been incorporated into the N boundary wall of the graveyard. The triangular-shaped graveyard is enclosed by a stone wall of post-1700 date with entrance gate and stone stile at W. The graveyard contains 18th and 19th century memorials mainly concentrated to the S of the church ruins. See attached plan of monument surveyed and drawn by the ASI.
