Grave Yd.

Graveyard

What is recorded here

Grave Yd. is an irregular graveyard in County Laois where a church appeared in the Ecclesiastical Taxation of 1302-6, though no surface remains from that time. A 19th Century church now stands at its centre, surrounded by a stone wall holding post 1700 AD memorials. The gently undulating countryside hides more than it reveals, inviting wonder about the lives buried beneath the grass.
