Grave Yards stands on the north shore of the Ilen estuary in County Cork, a rectangular stone-walled basin holding low uninscribed markers and early nineteenth-century chest tombs. An eastern extension preserves the site of Aghadoon Church beside a surviving Church of Ireland building. The dead have watched the estuary tide for centuries, their unnamed bodies resting beneath plain stones while the living forgot their names but kept the shape of the place.
