Located on a slight N-facing rise. The site of Rathumney church (WX040-029001-) is within a subrectangular graveyard (dims c. 65m E-W; c. 40m N-S) defined by stone-clad earthen banks, but the W part of the graveyard is overgrown and inaccessible. The site of St Margaret's Well (WX040-015----) is c. 450m to the NW and Rathumney castle (WX040-028001-) is c. 350m to the NW.
