Grave Yard

In open, level pasture, on the W limits of a possible early ecclesiastical enclosure (KD017-009004-) and surrounded by a possible medieval field system (KD017-009002-). A poorly preserved, overgrown sub-rectangular area (dims. L c. 70m E-W; Wth c. 40m) is enclosed by an earth and stone bank with mortared stone wall and partially destroyed entrance gate at W. The earliest legible grave markers date from the 18th c. The graveyard contains a derelict 19th century parochial church (KD017-009003-) which possibly stands on the site of a medieval church (KD017-009001-). Possible punch-dressed chamfered window jamb of medieval church reused as a grave marker in S quadrant of graveyard.
