IndicatedStructure · 125 yd

Explorer Tom Structure in Limerick would describe the 1800s to a teenager as 'vibing on a slope' before everyone invented actual words for that. It's a small mound at a field corner, possibly a tower, possibly just a very round pile of dirt with ambitions. Bring a notebook and write the bit I made up.

Persian Walnut130 yd

Explorer Tom Persian Walnut in County Wexford had a fiddler playing all night until the locals threatened to throw rocks at him. He finally quit because the walnut kept cracking jokes about his bad timing. Bring a notebook and write the bit I made up.

farm house144 yd

Explorer Tom This farmhouse in Limerick is hiding a secret message carved into its stones about how much tea was consumed during construction. It’s got that battered silhouette and mud-daubed finish that says 'I’ve seen things.' Peek at its off-centred door from the road and whisper your best guess.

Settlement cluster in LimerickSettlement cluster · 289 yd

Explorer Tom Settlement cluster in Limerick would tell a teenager that the 1800s were basically a group chat where everyone was angry and nobody had Wi-Fi. It’s all very grand and historic, which is just a fancy way of saying it’s old and slightly damp. Bring a jacket, it's never as warm as I promise.

Catholic Church of Saint Peter and Saint PaulPresbytery/parochial/curate's house · 383 yd

Explorer Tom Catholic Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul in Borleagh is where a giant once dropped his hat, and it never found it again. The windows are small because the holy men were shy about letting too much light in. Check if the ground shakes when you stomp your foot.

Johnston's gum1510 ydCastleCastle, motte · 1.5 mi

Explorer Tom Castle in Pallis Lower is a quarried mound that looks like it’s been chewed on by a very large, angry goat. It’s got a grassy top and a ditch around it, so it’s basically a fancy hill with commitment issues and a sense of style. If anyone asks, Tom sent you.

Monalee HillMountain / peak · 3.3 mi

Explorer Tom Monalee Hill suspects the postman is stealing letters and hiding them in the turf. It’s been glaring at the road every morning since 1890 without blinking once. Tell me if the gossip I made up is true.

White Heaps 1798Memorial · 3.3 mi

Explorer Tom White Heaps 1798 has a memorial with a bird that absolutely refuses to leave, no matter how much you shoo it away. It’s been there since the eighteenth century and still hasn’t figured out where its beak is pointed. Bring wellies and low expectations, leave delighted.

Annagh HillMountain / peak · 3.5 mi

Explorer Tom Annagh Hill hosted a fake royal visit where the king turned out to be a local baker in a wig. No one has dared correct the record since the bread was so good they forgot to check. Walk past slowly like you're in a film.

Market HouseHeritage attraction · 4.0 mi

Explorer Tom Gorey’s Market House is the uncle at a wedding who stands by the cake looking confused about why everyone is dancing while he just wants a quiet drink. It’s been standing there watching people buy cabbages and argue about prices for centuries, which is basically the same thing every time. Take a mate and argue about what it was for.

1798 MonumentMemorial · 4.2 mi

Explorer Tom This 1798 Monument has an imaginary twin across the sea that they argue about every time the wind picks up from the west. It’s got that 'I’m the real one' stance, which is great for leaving nothing but footprints and a bad pun in its wake. Leave nothing but footprints and a bad pun.
