What is recorded here

Between two knolls on a tract of rough undulating land with outcropping rock, in River Lee valley some 140m N of loop of river. Monument is very ruined. Two orthostats at right-angles indicate gallery (L 1.65m), aligned perhaps E-W. Prostrate slab to N may be displaced sidestone. Cannot be classified with certainty; interpretation as a wedge tomb not inconsistent with present evidence. Portal dolmen; likely Neolithic in origin. Its partial survival offers insight into early megalithic funerary practices in the River Lee valley region.
