Detached four-bay single-storey former gate lodge, built c. 1840, comprising three-bay main block with lower single-bay block to west gable. Now in use as house. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystack. Painted rubble stone walls. Square-headed openings having mullioned timber casement windows, two-over-two pane timber sliding sash window, and half-glazed timber battened door. Set on elevated site with rubble stone retaining wall with concrete steps to site boundary.

Pleasing elevation enlivened by variation in window type and size, including unusual mullioned windows. Simple geometric volumes creating pleasing form. Creates interesting group with Rathcoursey House and outbuildings and adds architectural interest to road.
