Detached three-bay single-storey gate lodge, built c. 1820, now disused. Hipped slate roof with clay ridge tiles and central facer bond red brick chimneystack. Limestone rubble walls drawn to courses and with peck-dressed limestone quoins. Square-headed openings having peck-dressed limestone voussoirs and limestone sills, with one fixed six-pane timber window and timber battened door. Set to west of curved entrance gateway comprising snecked squared rubble limestone walls terminating in limestone ashlar square-plan piers with plinths, moulded string courses and cornices and pyramidal caps with double-leaf decorative cast-iron vehicular gates.

This gate lodge and gateway, although now disused, are substantially intact. The lodge retains interesting structural elements including peck-dressed quoins and voussoirs. The fine curved entrance gateway forms a pleasing landmark on this road, with its pleasing visual contrast between rubble stone walls and limestone ashlar, added interest being provided by the decorative gates.
