What is recorded here

Six grooves cut through granite, waiting for hands that stopped clapping decades ago. The stone stands tall in County Carlow, aligned like a needle pointing at forgotten business. It is not a monument to pride, but a stage for participation, recording the exact moment human bodies joined the ritual.

The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Pillar stone of granite (H 2.1m; 1.4m x 0.8m) with six grooves. Aligned NNE-SSW. (JRSAI 1939, 105, 108, 109).
