What is recorded here

Gallaun stands 3.43 metres tall inside Cromwell's Fort on the Iveragh Peninsula, forcing a collision between millennia because the prehistoric upright predates the later enclosure by thousands of years. Packing stones and a leaning slab hold it against the kind of looseness Chatterton noted in 1839, yet the forceremains upright while carrying two different histories at once. The site feels layered and slightly unjust: an old stone absorbed into a younger fort, still resisting time.
