What is recorded here

Gallaun is a 3.43 metre tall standing stone in Glanleam, County Kerry, where a later fort was built around an older upright rather than the other way around. Packing stones and a leaning slab hold it steady today, though Chatterton found it easy to shake in 1839. The fort, pasture and stone belong to different ages, yet they occupy one place, making the boundary between them disappear.
