What is recorded here

Gallán was a single standing stone on a west-facing slope in County Cork, visible on the 1939 map but absent from earlier surveys. It stood in reclaimed land until removal erased every surface trace. The sudden disappearance suggests human hands, perhaps farming or development, rather than natural decay. What the stone marked or meant is no longer recoverable.
