What is recorded here

Gallán was a single standing stone in County Cork, marked on the 1937 map but absent from earlier surveys, then removed without a visible trace. It may have stood as a boundary, a memorial or a marker for a forgotten road, yet even its purpose has vanished with its stone. What remains is a gap in the landscape, a name pointing to nothing but air and soil.
