What is recorded here

Gallan stands two metres tall in open pasture, leaning slightly toward Rosscarbery with twenty-four cup-marks carved into its west face. Someone sat beside it, perhaps marking days or drawing others into a circle, while the stone watched the coast change around it. It is not a monument to a single event but a companion for patience, still present in the grass and light.
