What is recorded here

Gallán is a tall stone on a Cork hill, not a hidden temple or finished monument. It stands in pasture, resisting easy description, and that refusal may be the point. A person could have touched its edge, measured its shadow or left it alone because it gave nothing back. The unknown is not a flaw in the story; it is the shape of the story.

Not shown on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps. In pasture, atop hill. Stone (H 1.2m; 1.86m x 1.1m) is subrectangular in plan, long axis N-S. Probably natural feature.
