What is recorded here

Gallán was a single standing stone on a south-southwest slope in County Cork, visible on maps only after 1938 before disappearing entirely. It stood in working land rather than a reserved shrine, suggesting people passed it daily instead of traveling far to worship it. The stone is gone now, leaving no mark behind, but its brief appearance on paper preserves the shape of a place that once interrupted the horizon.

Not shown on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps. Marked as single standing stone on 1938 OS 6-inch map. In tillage, on SSW-facing slope. Removed; no visible surface trace.
