What is recorded here

Gallán is a rectangular standing stone in a Cork pasture, tall enough to mark a boundary but thin enough to hide behind grass. It stands fifty metres from a similar stone, waiting for people who no longer remember why they placed them there. The Sullane River floods around them, eroding human certainty while the stones remain stubborn witnesses.

Not shown on 1842 and 1903 OS 6-inch maps. In pasture, in flood plain of Sullane River valley. Stone (H 1.62m; 0.39m x 0.1m) is rectangular in plan, long axis NNW-SSE.
