Galláin

In flat pasture. Shown on 1938 OS 6-inch map as 'Galláin', with two stones indicated. Three stones described by Condon (1916, 71, no. 32): Stone A (H 2.13m; 1.14m x 0.6m); stone B (H 1.2m; 0.63m x 0.5m); stone C (1.21m x1.37m x 0.25m). Plan (UCC) dated 1912, shows stones were arranged forming points of a triangle; stones A and B were 2.49m apart, B and C 2.03m apart. A and B were upright, C was lying on ground and partially embedded. No visible surface trace. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
