Mistake and memory are entangled here. A map wrote fulacht fiadh in 1935, but the site is a standing stone: a rectangular block, 1.1 m tall, set on a south-facing pasture slope in County Cork. It fell in the 1930s and people lifted it again, perhaps without knowing whether they were restoring a marker, a boundary, or a kitchen of water and heat. The name may be wrong, yet the act of re-erecting it made the place real again.

Named incorrectly as fulacht fiadh on 1935 OS 6-inch map. Not shown on earlier eds of OS 6-inch map. In pasture on S-facing slope. Rectangular stone (H 1.1m; 0.7m x 0.5m), long axis NE-SW.
