Half a kilometre from a second fulacht fia, the first still holds its burnt stones beneath conifers in County Cork. People may have heated water there for cooking, cleaning or ritual before trees closed over the camp. The site resists easy measurement because its edge has blurred into soil and shadow. What is certain is that heat and water met repeatedly in one small place, and the land kept the marks.

In coniferous plantation. Marked on UCC Archaeology Dept map as 'fulacht fiadh'. Burnt material visible but extent of spread not determined. Second fulacht fiadh (CO058-052002-) c. 50m to SE.
