Situated on poorly drained marshy terrain at the interface between marshy and well-drained land in an upland area with a stream nearby to E. A large horseshoe-shaped mound of burnt material (dims. 15.3m N-S; 16m E-W; H 1.5-3m) with a waterlogged trough area (dims. 2.3m N-S; 3m E-W) at E.
