Melt butter, brew coffee, heat stones until they sing. Drop them in water, watch steam rise like a ghost leaving the field. That is a fulacht fia. Build one anywhere soil and stone exist.

In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Area of burnt stones and charcoal uncovered during ploughing, 100m NE of standing stone (LH021-024----).
