Mud, fire, water. Fulacht fia in Ightermurragh is a cooking pit hidden in farmland near Ightermurragh castle. Stones heated until they sang, water poured in until it boiled, food cooked in that fury. People ate, travelled, lived. The pit waited under soil, patient as a promise.

In tillage, c. 60m S of Womanagh river and to NE of Ightermurragh castle (CO077-02402-); spread of burnt material (8m E-W; 6m N-S).
