Fulacht fia in Gort Na Fuinseann

In pasture, on S bank of River Douglas. Partially levelled mound, according to local information formerly circular (diam. c. 11m) with hollow in centre; NW quadrant remains as oval mound (L 8m; Wth 2.6m; H 1.1m). Spread of burnt material extends to E and S. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
