What is recorded here

In a boggy depression, on an upland terrace on the S-facing slopes of the Ox Mountains. A low kidney-shaped mound (11m NNE-SSW; 7.6m WNW-ESE; H 0.5m) of heat-shattered stones and dark soil, indented slightly at NW. Rushes grow immediately outside the indentation. There is a remnant of a field boundary immediately to E and a drain immediately to S. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
