In flat, slightly waterlogged, reclaimed pasture. Discovered during construction of Bruff-Mallow gas pipeline (Gowen 1988). Burnt material briefly exposed extending in from left-hand side of corridor during removal of topsoil. Its maximum dimensions measured 6m x 4m (pers. comm. M. Gowen). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
