Frank Patterson

Frank Patterson, Ireland's Golden Tenor, was born in Clonmel on 5 October 1938, where a boy's voice first rang through parish choirs and Wrenboy traditions before carrying his name across continents. He left school early to work in his mother's family printing business, yet music kept pulling him forward until Dublin training, Paris broadcasts and worldwide stages turned a small town birth into a global sound. Clonmel still honours that ascent with a bronze statue in Mick Delahunty Square, proving that even a printing office and country choirs can hide a voice destined for the world.
