Group of six six-bay single-storey buildings with lean-to porches to south gables, built c. 1950, as worker's accommodation during the construction of Whitegate oil refinery. Now disused. Pitched corrugated-iron roofs with rendered chimneystacks and clayware pots. Corrugated-iron walls. Timber sliding sash windows.

Apparently built to accommodate the workers of Whitegate Oil Refinery during it's construction, this buildings are notable for their use of corrugated-iron. Often seen as an inexpensive and temporary building material, corrugated-iron buildings are surprising in their longevity. These buildings have much in common with contemporary buildings found in other barracks throughout the Republic, so it is unusual that they were built for the adjacent Refinery.
